West Utility Plant, College of William & Mary

/    /  West Utility Plant, College of William & Mary

The West Utility Plant at the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA provides utility services and generates the hot water and the chilled water for the heating and cooling equipment serving many of the buildings on the campus.

The unique architectural character of the College of William & Mary campus and the extensive use of brick masonry calls for a compatible architectural character for all the campus buildings. Such is the architectural design of the West Utility Plant.

The equipment used in the generation of the hot water and chilled water is expressed dramatically with the building’s extensive use of large panels of curtainwall glazing.

The project is constructed on-time and on-budget. DPR Construction served as General Contractor. Lord Aeck Sargent provided full-service architectural services for the project. Gordon Burns provided Construction Administration services for LAS.
